I was really excited for this Noqiz WiFi smart lock to replace another brand smart lock that I have which is missing some key features I wanted. Unfortunately, I was quickly disappointed with the Noqiz WiFi connection and setup. Upon receiving this Noqiz lock, I immediately tested it with batteries to make sure it worked. Then, I installed it on my door. Another reason, I wanted this lock was because it works with the Smart Life app which I'm already using for smart bulbs and I prefer to have everything under 1 app.
I have a dual band (2.4 / 5ghz) mesh WiFi system and this lock works with 2.4ghz only. So it wouldn't connect using the mesh WiFi. I had to disconnect the mesh WiFi and re-enable 2.4 on the main router in order to get the lock connected to the Smart Life app. Then I was able to test out the features (auto locking, unlock/lock notifications, wireless unlock/lock, Google Assistant, etc.). I really loved the fact that you get a notification when the door is manually unlocked/locked from the inside or by using the key and it shows the door status in real time in case you forget to lock the door. That's a feature I really wanted as my current lock doesn't have it. After testing everything, I reconnected my mesh WiFi and disabled the 2.4ghz on the main router. I expected the lock to automatically pick up the mesh on 2.4ghz band but it didn't which was very disappointing because I have other 2.4ghz only smart devices (bulbs & current smart lock) that work perfectly on my mesh with no problems. This Noqiz unfortunately doesn't (reason for 3 stars). I even waited until the next day to see if it would reconnect eventually on its own but it never did. Reluctantly, I eventually gave up trying to make it work and uninstalled it from my door to return it. Will keep looking in hopes of finding a similar lock that works on mesh WiFi.
Overall, it's a pretty decent lock if your WiFi is set up with separate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5ghz.
